“A great day out” Parkinsons UK Harrogate and District Branch visit Ripon Races
As part of the Yorkshire Beacon programme Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse welcomed members of the Parkinsons UK Harrogate and District Branch to their meeting on Yorkshire Day, Monday 1st August. With reserved space in the Claro Rooms, located in the Paddock Enclosure, with easy access to the Parade Ring and trackside viewing over 50 members enjoyed a free afternoon at the races.
John Sheepy, Chair of the Harrogate and District Branch of Parkinsons UK, said: “We’ve had a fantastic day. It’s been difficult to find opportunities to get together in the last few years but social contact is so vital to so many of our members.
“We thank the racecourse so much for accommodating us and the staff have all been superb. We’ve had a great day out and the only complaint is that we would have liked more winners!”.
Ripon Operations and Marketing Executive, Jonathan Mullin, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the members of Harrogate and District Parkinsons UK to share a day’s racing with us. It’s crucial that we support our local community wherever possible and it’s very pleasing to see so many people here enjoying a good afternoon’s racing, particularly those who might not have had much chance to get out and socialise in recent times”.
