Ascot Racecourse Supports and Retraining of Racehorses partnership reaches £100,000 milestone

Ascot Racecourse Supports is proud to celebrate a significant milestone in its partnership with Retraining of Racehorses (RoR), with £100,000 raised over three years to support the welfare and aftercare of former racehorses.

The partnership, which concluded following Royal Ascot 2026, has combined fundraising with awareness-raising, highlighting the importance of long-term support for racehorses beyond their racing careers.

A key driver of this fundraising effort has been Ascot Racecourse Supports’ commitment to donate £5,000 for every Royal Ascot winner ridden by leading jockey Ryan Moore. Going into this year’s Royal Meeting, the initiative had already generated £65,000. Moore’s exceptional performance in 2026, securing seven winners across the week, raised a further £35,000, bringing the total to £100,000.

Funding from the partnership has already delivered meaningful impact. Contributions from 2024 supported the launch of RoR’s dedicated fundraising microsite in early 2025, which has significantly enhanced the charity’s digital presence and increased online individual giving more than five-fold.

Funds generated through the 2025 and 2026 campaigns will continue to drive improvements across RoR’s digital infrastructure, strengthening communication with owners, enhancing education delivery, improving data capture, and increasing the traceability of former racehorses.

Ryan Moore’s seven victories at Royal Ascot 2026 provided a fitting conclusion to the initiative, underlining the strength of a partnership that has delivered both vital funding and increased visibility for the work of Retraining of Racehorses.
