Ascot Racecourse Supports hosted the Sebastian’s Action Trust Christmas in July party welcoming over 600 family members

On Saturday 31st July 20201 Ascot Racecourse Supports hosted Sebastian’s Action Trust Christmas in July party for over 600 families. The charity was founded in 2004 and aims to support seriously ill children and their families through emotional, social and practical care.

The event was carnival-themed and had circus workshops, stilt walkers and much more. Volunteers from the charity along with staff from Ascot Racecourse were there to ensure families along with their children had a relaxing and enjoyable day. Father Christmas made a special appearance handing out presents to each child, many of whom are suffering with a life-limiting illness.

Ascot Racecourse said: “The sheer delight of the children was clear to see and it is testament to the charity’s dedicated staff who ensure their every need is catered for. We at Ascot Racecourse are just delighted to be able to facilitate and play a part in such a joyous and important occasion.”

Jane Gates OBE, CEO of Sebastian’s Action Trust said: “Achieving a successful party of this magnitude does not happen without great teamwork; we were delighted to once again have the supportive collaboration of Ascot Racecourse to bring about the 2021 Christmas in July party. This flagship event is always the highlight of the year for so many of our beneficiaries but this year it has been especially poignant after the past 18  months of isolation, challenge and uncertainty.

“The joy of families being reunited with others from the Trust’s ‘family of families’ was particularly evident; the racecourse was the perfect backdrop for a day of fun, laughter and enjoyment. We remain so grateful to all at Ascot Racecourse for partnering with us.”
