Ascot Racecourse Supports Thames Hospice “Donate Don’t Dump Day”
Earlier this month, employees of Ascot Racecourse collectively donated clothing, homeware, books and more to help stock Thames Hospice charity shops in Bracknell, Sunninghill, North Ascot and Binfield.
Monies raised via the sales of the donated items will be added to the funds currently being raised for their new state-of-the-art hospice that will be located by Bray Lake and which will cost an estimated £18 million.
About Thames Hospice
Thames Hospice is a charity providing expert care for people living with life-limiting illnesses in East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. A vital part of their work is also supporting their families and carers.
It costs £8 million every year to keep the Thames Hospice running. They rely on the community and fundraising for over 50% of their funds to provide services free of charge, 365 days a year, to the people who need them.
Ascot Racecourse Supports
Ascot team members volunteered in the gardens of the hospice as part of Racing Together Community Day earlier this year and donated plants from their Ascot Spring Garden Show. The racecourse team members continue to support Thames Hospice as part of Ascot Racecourse Supports, their comprehensive community engagement programme.
