Chelmsford team spend day revamping dementia gardens at Broomfield Hospital
The team at Chelmsford City Racecourse spent a day volunteering in the dementia gardens at nearby Broomfield Hospital on 10th October as part of their commitment to community engagement.
Georgie Thorogood, Senior Commercial Executive said: “A team of us from the racecourse went to Broomfield Hospital to volunteer painting all of the garden furniture within their dementia gardens. Broomfield is first port of call for any injuries from the racecourse and they have always ensured that any jockeys get the very best of care, so it was great to be able to give a little back.”
The Sustainability and Grounds & Gardens team at Broomfield Hospital said: “Thank you all so much for your hard work. Staining the benches really brightened up the furniture and tied the gardens all together. The garden is much more attractive, which will hopefully encourage the patients to go outside.”
