Christmas came early and on horseback for young racefans

Taking time out from his preparations for Christmas Eve, Santa and some of his elves made it a very happy Christmas for some young racing fans at Lingfield Park. Andy Irvine from Zoe Davison’s nearby yard helped to arrange the visit, which saw Santa arrive on horseback, parading down the track and into the Winners’ Enclosure.

A quick dismount and the star of the show was soon among the young racegoers across the course before welcoming everyone into his grotto to receive a Christmas gift.

Lingfield Park’s Executive Director David Toulson-Burke said: “This is an annual visit by Santa to the racecourse and once again it was a joy to see the faces of our younger guests as he arrived trackside with his young Elf helpers.

“It’s a great way for us to engage with families and is a chance to give a little back to our loyal customers.”
