Community at the heart of National Racehorse Week
This year’s National Racehorse Week was the biggest to date, with 51 community events taking place nationwide alongside 91 public open days offering more than 11,500 free places. From yard tours to horses visiting schools, day centres, and community hubs, the week once again demonstrated the power of the Thoroughbred to inspire and connect people of all ages and backgrounds.
Our highlights video showcases Racing Together’s role in extending the reach of National Racehorse Week, with 12 events for charities and community groups taking place nationwide. We welcomed Tickets for Troops to Andrew Balding’s historic Park House Stables and hosted emergency workers at Paul Nicholls’ for a special open day.
Other charity partners included Mind Charity, Box4Kids, Communicare and Dallaglio RugbyWorks. Huge thanks to the trainers, studs and charity partners who worked with us to bring these events to life.
Racing to School coordinate seven school visits to stable yards taking place in the coming weeks to coincide with term-time.
Wider National Racehorse Week community events had an estimated reach of over 2,000 people, organised by Great British Racing, racecourses, Godolphin, Scottish Racing Academy, trainers and others.

As part of a Box4Kids visit, Milo’s mum said: “I just wanted to say thank you to everyone involved for organising the event at the Jim Boyle yard. We had a really lovely morning, Milo fell in love with one of their beautiful horses, and his sister got some really great experiences too. Everyone that worked there was so friendly and welcoming. Thanks again!”
A survey will be distributed to all community event participants so further insight will follow.
