Beverley Family Raceday

A lovely day out for young and old alike, PAW Patrol favourites Chase and Marshall will be making appearances during narrator-led story time sessions at this family raceday.

Bring your little ones along to see their favourite pups and listen to tales of their heroic adventures. There’s also a superb afternoon of racing to enjoy as well as the return of the slightly bonkers Bark de Triomphe, a charity race for jockey’s dogs where anything goes!

The Bark de Triomphe is in aid of Antibiotic Research UK, and if you think this is a charity that might not affect you, read on…

Antibiotic Research UK (ANTRUK) was founded in 2014 and is the world’s only charity tackling antibiotic resistance. Resistance to antibiotics arises when natural bacteria in our body are no longer affected by the antibiotics we use. The resulting antibiotic-resistant infection can be fatal. Nearly every medical procedure, from cancer treatment and organ transplantation to hip or joint replacement, is dependent on effective antibiotics. If we don’t act now, the antibiotic era will pass, and our children and grandchildren will fail to have the benefits of antibiotics that current generations have enjoyed.

ANTRUK aims to raise sufficient funds over the next five years to bring at least one new antibiotic treatment to market by the early 2020’s. We also aim to provide public and professional education and information for patients. ANTRUK is seeking to raise a further £5 million by 2021. Since the charity’s formation it has raised over £1 million, with year-on-year growth of at least 30%.

Don’t forget: under 18s go free!
