Every British Racecourse pledges to support to Tickets For Troops for 2019
Racing has once again shown its support of the Services with every racecourse in Great Britain pledging to offer free tickets to Armed Forces personnel in 2019.
Since the scheme launched in 2009, British Racecourses have donated nearly 80,000 tickets to the scheme, which allows those employed in the Armed Forces to attend some of British racing’s premier days for free. All details are available on the Tickets for Troops website.
This is the third year all of Great Britain’s courses have signed up for the scheme and once again tickets are on offer for events such as Royal Ascot, the Qatar Goodwood Festival, the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival, the William Hill St Leger Festival and Cheltenham’s November Meeting.
Stuart Higgins, Director at Tickets For Troops, said:
“This year marks our 10 year anniversary and we would like to thank the British Horseracing Authority and all the racecourses which have been so generous and consistent supporters of Tickets For Troops since the charity’s launch. With racecourses throughout the UK it means troops and their families from all corners of the country can enjoy a great day out in recognition of their efforts in keeping us safe and secure.”
Robin Mounsey, Head of Media at the BHA, said:
“It is good news that once again in 2019 the brave men and women who serve our country will be able to enjoy a wide variety of British racing’s fixtures across all 59 racecourses.
“Our thanks goes to the racecourses as well as Tickets For Troops and we hope plenty will enjoy a well-deserved day out at the races this year.”
