Free fun-filled Easter activities for the whole family

Easter is nearly upon us and what better way to celebrate than will all the free activities on offer from racing during the Easter Holidays.

Many racecourses across the country are putting on spectacular Easter events for the whole family to enjoy, alongside a days’ racing. Catterick racecourse is opening their Flat season with their Easter Family Day on Wednesday, 12th April. They will offer a bouncy castle, giraffe slide and an Easter Egg Hunt, as well as Easter-themed photo opportunities.

Emma Stevenson, General Commercial Manager at Catterick said: “We always look forward to our family days and welcoming the next generation of racegoers through the gates! There’s lots to look forward to this summer and we can’t wait to get underway with the Easter Family Day on Wednesday 12th April.”

Another racecourse joining in with the Easter celebrations is Huntingdon, who will be hosting their Easter Monday Family Fun Day on Monday, 10th April. It will include several children’s entertainment activities, such as Shetland Pony Racing, and all Under-18s can go for free. Looking beyond Easter, Warwick Racecourse will be holding a Kids’ Carnival Raceday on Monday, 1st May that will include horse-themed bouncy castles, graffiti artists with children’s workshops, a children’s entertainer and the amazing bubble artist ‘Paris Bubbles’ plus much more alongside the seven-race card.

On Easter Weekend itself, racing fans and those who have never experienced racing can get involved and get behind the scenes at some trainers’ yards with the open weekends that are taking place on Good Friday, 7th April. These will be held in Lambourn and Middleham. Not only does it give the public access to a huge variety of yards but there will also be children’s entertainment, trade stands and famous faces from the weighing room getting involved.
