John Francome MBE to host winner of Racehorse Sanctuary Autumn Raffle

Instead of their usual winter appeal, the Racehorse Sanctuary has launched an Autumn Raffle. Find out more about the prizes and how to enter below. Prizes will be drawn on Friday 18 December 2020.

FIRST PRIZE

Dinner for two people hosted by the legendary John Francome MBE and Patron of the Racehorse Sanctuary at The Pheasant Inn, a beautifully restored 400-year-old drovers’ inn just outside the pretty town of Hungerford, close to Newbury Racecourse, with racehorse owners and jockeys amongst the regular clientele.

Overnight Accommodation (Twin or Double room) with Breakfast in one of The Pheasant Inn’s 11 bedrooms decorated by designer Flora Soames with ‘rural-chic creams and cinnamons’.

The following morning visit Clive Cox Racing at Beechdown Stables, Lambourn for a Morning on the Gallops and Stable Tour. Clive who took out his trainer’s licence in 2000 has established himself as one of the country’s leading trainers of flat racehorses, nurturing talented Group 1 winning two-year-olds.

SECOND PRIZE

A Morning on the Gallops & Stable Tour for two with Andrew Balding Racing, including bacon roll breakfast. Park House Stables, Kingsclere, is undoubtedly one of the best equipped and most beautiful private training establishments in the world. Having sent out Kamecko to win the Quipco 2000 Guineas in 2020, his 2nd Classic winner, Andrew, who hails from a family that is steeped in racing history, has proved to be a skilled campaigner of horses nationally and internationally and is currently standing in 3rd place in the trainer’s championship.

Your very own photo shoot by renowned equine photographer Emma Hughes, who is offering a 2-hour photo shoot of your horses, dogs or families (or any these combinations) at home or a destination of your choice. The prize also includes a print credit of £200 for use towards displaying your prints from a selection of the very best fine art products. Kindly donated by Emma Hughes.

Travel outside the home counties (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, and Sussex) will incur mileage expenses at 40pp mile.

THIRD PRIZE

A Morning on the Gallops & Stable Tour with Charlie Longsdon Racing, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. After watching the horses in training on the gallops at Hull Farm that boasts fantastic facilities for training National Hunt and Flat racehorses, join the team for bacon rolls and a stable tour.
