Just what the Doctor ordered as Bath Racecourse hosts NHS staff for 70th Anniversary

During Mental Health Awareness Week, Bath Racecourse provided NHS workers with free tickets to their evening meeting to celebrate the great work they do, and to mark the publicly-funded service’s 70th birthday.

The Bath Racecourse team felt that it was important to recognise the incredible work of the NHS workers and wanted to extend the opportunity for them to claim free tickets to see the racing. The uptake was huge, with 1500 tickets being redeemed.

In attendance was Tim Hobbs – Head of Fundraising for the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust who spoke about how much the group enjoyed the day, especially with many NHS staff in attendance taking part in the Walk of Life fundraising event just the week before.

Tim commented: “We had a great team visit enjoyed by all, it was really nice to have some time out to enjoy together, it was just what the doctor ordered!

“We are very proud to be part of the NHS and it was so generous of the racecourse to recognise all the hard work hospital staff provide and offer us such a special treat!”

Russel Smith, Executive Director at Bath Racecourse said of the day: “This was a small gesture as a thank you from us to all of the amazing individuals in the NHS. It was great to be able to do this during Mental Health Awareness Week and around the time of International Nurses Day.

“It was great to see so many people claim their free ticket.”
