Local Care Home residents given VIP treatment at ‘By Gone Beverley’ event
Beverley racecourse recently held a very special event for three Beverley-based Care Homes, which included residents of Claremont House.
The By Gone Beverley event was held on the May Bank Holiday and was set against a 1960s theme, which included live entertainment.
Also supporting the event was local charity, Beverley Community Lift that provided transport for the group. Racecourse staff ensured that there was a specially-reserved area, with tea, coffee and home-made cakes and scones on offer.
With the sun shining, the guests were able to sit outside and take in the great atmosphere of a day’s racing and listen to a performance by Mad Dog Jones and his swing band.
Jennie Falconer from Claremont House commented: “The residents and staff would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Racecourse for providing such a fantastic day and event for them.”
Resident Elsie Smith, 88, said of the day: “I had a truly wonderful time, everything was absolutely perfect. No one could have been cared for better than us. I hadn’t been outdoors for seven weeks following a fall at home.”
