Market Rasen Superhero Family Extravaganza raises funds for local charity KIDS

Market Rasen’s recent KIDS Superheroes Family Extravaganza Raceday raised a contribution of over £1,000 to the KIDS Charity from advance ticket sales.

KIDS is the racecourse’s annual charity for 2018 and this event was a great opportunity to celebrate the special relationship between both organisations.

KIDS support over 13,500 disabled children, young people and their families every year by delivering over 120 services throughout England.

The charity is unique as there is no other organisation dedicated to providing such an extensive range of services to disabled children and young people, aged 0-25 years, irrespective of their impairment or condition.

The entertainment offered on the day included a children’s race on the track; kids’ carnival; inflatable funfair; pony rides; face painting and a fantastic new playground that was only recently opened to be enjoyed by families.

Fantastic prizes encouraged adults and children to dust off their superhero outfits and these free activities were topped off with the opportunity to meet Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leo & Raph throughout the day.

Almost 4,000 people attended the meeting and were treated to a seven-race card, including a popular win for Her Majesty’s horse, Comely in The Cranswick Country Food Handicap Hurdle.

Looking ahead the local community is invited to Market Rasen’s next big fixture, the Prelude Beer Festival Raceday on 29th September. This fixture marks the finale to summer jump racing and the start of the winter season. Sponsored by Ferry Ales Brewery, the day will host a variety of beers on the day and music entertainment.
