Nearly 100 Lots on Offer in the “Great Racing Welfare Auction”
Today, Thursday 27th August at 10am, sees bidding open in The Great Racing Welfare Auction. With close to 100 lots on offer, the event is being hosted virtually and will raise much needed funds for the charity’s Covid-19 Emergency Appeal. Bidding will run until 8pm on Thursday 24th September.
The Great Racing Welfare auction has been supported with generous donations from across the racing industry and beyond. Amongst the standout lots is a chance for three people to enjoy 18 holes of golf at Sunningdale with AP McCoy, a riding lesson with equestrian legend Sir Mark Todd and a fitness session with marathon world-record holder Susannah Gill.
Other auction lots include a special commission from renowned artist Tania Still and mornings on the gallops and stable tours with some of the country’s top trainers. There are also holidays, ownership shares and the chance for two people to join master caller Mike Cattermole in the commentary box along with a wide variety of other fabulous lots.
Dawn Goodfellow, Racing Welfare’s Chief Executive, said:
“We have been overwhelmed by the incredible lots donated to the Great Racing Welfare Auction, there really is something to appeal to everyone and to suit a variety of budgets. We have lined up some incredible opportunities for 2021 and some genuine money can’t buy experiences. I encourage everybody to take a look at the auction page and to get bidding.”
