Newmarket’s race titles showcase community support by charities and businesses
Newmarket’s two-day meeting on the July Course will have a community focus, as naming rights have been used to highlight the key players in their community project. Starting today, partners including Discover Newmarket; The Racing Centre; the Newmarket Festival; charity Racing Welfare; the Newmarket Volunteer Network; The Alborda Trust; Godolphin; the Chesnut Group and the European Breeders Fund, will have races named in acknowledgment of their combined efforts to support the local community.
Many of these organisations have been involved over the past few months, as the towns business and community leaders teamed up to support those impacted by Coronavirus. During the Covid19 lockdown, the businesses supported the delivery of over 200 prescriptions and 135 food and essentials parcels; they also assisted with well over 400 calls and engaged the help of 225 volunteers.
