Nominations open for the Rose Paterson Community Sportswoman Award

The Rose Paterson Community Sportswoman Award was launched in 2021 at the Randox Grand National Festival by Aintree Racecourse in partnership with BBC Radio Merseyside. The award was created in memory of the Aintree’s late chairman Rose Paterson who sadly passed away in 2020. Its aim is to recognise annually a girl or woman from Merseyside who is making a difference to grassroots community sport and combines two of Rose’s passions, the Grand Women’s Summit and the community.

Nominations for the award can be made by the public and Aintree are encouraging community partners as well as local sports clubs to make nominations. The winner will be given free admission to Aintree on Ladies Day, will attend the Grand Women Summit and be commemorated on a plaque on the Peter O’Sullevan Community Hub wall at the racecourse, and will also receive an annual pass to Aintree. The judging panel will be made up of Rose’s daughter Evie Paterson, Alice Fox-Pitt and Mike Hughes from BBC Radio Merseyside. To find out more and enter your nomination click here
