Racing makes first visit to Diversity Careers Show
The 2017 Diversity Careers Show had representation from racing for the first time this year with Careers in Racing and the British Racing School sharing a stall at the event held at the Emirates Stadium.
The careers event has been running for 10 years and provides students, graduates and jobseekers with the opportunity to attend workshops, panel discussions and pop-up sessions.
This year’s Show at the home of Arsenal football club attracted around 100 young people and over 20 employers, including Adidas, Asos, Vodafone and BT.
The Careers in Racing and British Racing School team set up with an Equisizer, which was a popular attraction on the day, with a range of young people and employers testing their riding skills for the first time.
Shiraz, a student at the local City and Islington College commented: “I’ve never thought about a career in horseracing before but after speaking with the team and giving the equisizer a try, it is something I will definitely look into; it’s been a really useful day.”
This day is one event among many being organised by a number of racing bodies to engage and support their communities.
