Racing to School revealed as Racing League’s first charity partner

Racing League and Racing to School are pleased to enter a two-year partnership, with the education charity becoming the Official Racing Charity of the Racing League – the sport’s new six-week team competition that starts on July 29th.

John Blake, Racing to School CEO, said: “Racing to School is looking forward to being the official racing charity partner for the Racing League. The launch of this new, innovative competition coincides with our 20th anniversary and we share a desire to reach, inform and excite a new audience for the sport across all our communities.”

The education charity Racing to School supports the learning and development of young people through unique, free educational programmes delivered for schools and colleges at racecourses, trainers’ yards and studs across the country. The charity also leads the industry-wide Racing Together partnership, which represents all of the sport’s community engagement.

“Young people are eager to learn about the many facets of racing once they are given insight and encouragement. The format of the Racing League provides many hooks for regular learning and engagement, and to help everyone form a bond with the sport and some of its leading participants.

“We are really grateful for the opportunity to be part of this new concept and see it as a great way to connect racing with new followers and those that have been at arms-length for well over a year.”

Jeremy Wray, CEO of Racing League commented: “I have had the pleasure of seeing the work Racing to School does first-hand and think they will make an ideal partner for us for the next two years.

“We hope to not only help educate children about the racing industry, but also look directly at long term pathways into an industry that indirectly employs 80,000 people in the UK.”
