Racing to School strengthens Board with two new Trustees appointed

Racing to School is delighted to announce that Andrea O’Keeffe and Camilla Dutton will be joining the charity’s board as independent Trustees in September.

Andrea O’Keeffe has worked in racing for over 30 years and brings with her a wealth of industry knowledge and experience, so too a strong background in the education sector. Andrea is married to trainer Jed O’Keeffe and is based in Middleham.

In 2019, Andrea won the Godolphin Stable Staff Award’s Community Award and was recognized for her enthusiasm in supporting and educating young people both within her yard and in the wider racing community.

“‘I am delighted to have been appointed to the board of Trustees of Racing to School and look forward to supporting the fantastic work of this charity to inspire and engage with young people, introducing them to our sport,” said Andrea.

Fellow appointee Camilla Dutton works as a solicitor specialising in corporate and commercial law. She has a strong equestrian background, having represented Wales, winning at the Royal International Horse Show and competing at Horse of the Year Show. Camilla is a member of the British Horseracing Authority’s Rules Committee.

Camilla said: “I feel privileged to be joining Racing to School as a Trustee. I care deeply about increasing access to education and sports and am passionate about horseracing and all equestrian sports. I believe they are a real force for good and I am very grateful to have the opportunity to contribute to its exceptional mission.”

The charity’s Board comprises 10 members drawn from across racing, wider sport and the education and governance sectors, and has a 60/40 male to female ratio.
