Racing Together Community Award up for grabs at prestigious RCA event
The Racecourse Association (RCA) has this year named their community category the Racing Together Community Award for their Showcase & Awards event taking place at Hamilton Park Racecourse on 14th November. Last year’s most-entered category returns this year, alongside a new Diversity and Inclusion award for the competitive annual racecourse awards. Other categories reward the Best Event, Best Campaign and Best Owners’ Experience, to name just a few, plus the overall Champion title.
Last year’s community award winner was Uttoxeter Racecourse, which ran a prostate cancer screening programme in conjunction with their local lions club and provided life-changing advice to 75 men.
The submission deadline is 27th September, with finalists announced on 15th October and the awards taking place on 14th November. The RCA hosts a showcase surgery to provide objective advice for racecourse submissions. Find out more on the RCA’s website here.
Brand & Experience Manager Paul Swain said: “Showcase has become far more sophisticated in its tone and presentation because, as organisers, we acknowledged we had to up our game. We’re putting on a marquee event for people who put on marquee events every day of the year!
“We’ve worked hard to build trust with the racecourses and curate an event which has become an established part of the racecourse calendar. Showcase recognises two brand values at its core: excellence and innovation. We stress both terms in everything we do.”
“We give a platform to those racecourses which have reached the peak of excellence that year, and then combine that insight with the best from outside the sport. We’ve had some fantastic speakers form huge brands: Center Parcs, the Royal & Ancient, Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal football clubs and Wimbledon to name but a few.”
