Racing Together partner ROA support staff BBQs for Racing Staff Week

The Racehorse Owners Association is celebrating Racing Welfare’s Racing Staff Week by encouraging trainers to organise staff BBQs as one way of showing their appreciation for the contribution of their workforce.

The simple idea is aimed at developing the owner/staff relationships away from the often pressurised raceday atmosphere.

An impressive tally of 30 Flat and National Hunt trainers have got involved during Racing Staff Week, including: Ed Dunlop, Lucinda Russell, Martin Keighley, Harry Fry, Andrew Balding and James Ewart.

The ROA’s contribution to the week did not stop there, as they supported Racing Welfare’s regional offices to organise BBQs and other social events for stud and stable staff, attended by a number of trainers and owners.

ROA Chief Executive Charlie Liverton said: “The ROA is delighted to be supporting Racing Staff Week once again this year and we very much hope that these informal events will continue to be popular with owners and staff. Owners are the first to recognise and support the passion, commitment and skill of racing staff who ensure that their horses are well-cared for during their racing careers.”
