Raising money for local, racing and military causes at Royal Ascot

During this week’s Royal Ascot meeting, the racecourse will be making a contribution to charities from the sale of Pimms, Royal Ascot Blush, Plymouth Fruit Cup and every afternoon tea sold. Their food and drink concessionaires also generously donate 1% of their sales during the week.

Today, the beneficiary is the Army Benevolent Fund.  In addition, military personnel and volunteers from The Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity, Army Benevolent Fund – The Army’s National Charity and the RAF Benevolent Fund will all benefit from a concession.  A tri-forces bucket collection will also be held today. Ascot support all their local emergency services by offering 2-for-1 tickets.

As in previous years, jockey David Crosse and his team of jockey hosts, including Tom Bellamy, Ryan Tongue and Kate Tracey will be providing tips and entertainment and sharing their racing knowledge with racegoers, all while collecting donations in support of the Inured Jockeys Fund.

‘Ascot Racecourse Supports’ is Ascot’s year-round community engagement programme. It was initiated to coordinate Ascot’s charitable activity in one place, to ensure local causes benefit from meaningful support from the racecourse.

Over 250 local charities, community groups and businesses benefit each year, whether via exposure on Ascot’s national platform, through monetary contributions and complimentary tickets for use as raffle/auction prizes.

‘Ascot Racecourse Supports’ helps in the local community in many ways, including donations of raceday tickets, typically in excess of 650 annually, to help with fundraising activities, as well as through Ascot’s staff’s volunteering programme. Recently as part of Racing Together Community Day, the racecourse hosted a food ‘Donation Station’ for staff and racegoers to contribute food and supplies to benefit nine local food banks.
