Research into British Racing’s Culture Launches

During National Inclusion Week David Letts launched a PhD research survey that examines the culture of British racing. The research is supported by the sport’s Diversity in Racing Steering Group (DiRSG) and is the first industry-wide examination of the subject – it aims to better understand the links between diversity, inclusion, and culture across the sport. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous.

The DiRSG is encouraging participation in the survey, as well as circulation amongst colleagues, member bodies and networks across the sport.

Visit the industry-wide survey here.

Why is this survey important?
In order to retain and attract the best talent and to ensure racing is a nice place to work for everyone, it is important that we understand more about those working in our sport and how included they feel. Your participation will allow us to develop a clearer picture of the overall landscape of British racing.

Filling out the survey

The survey can be accessed and completed here. Once you start, you will need to complete the survey in one sitting.

Survey confidentiality
The survey responses will be anonymous through all parts of this process and will never be linked to an individual. No specific individuals/organisations should be named by participants to allow for open and honest responses.

What happens after the survey is finished?
After the survey is closed, the results will be collated and analysed for inclusion in an academic submission. Beyond this initial aspect of data collection, interviews will also be undertaken. The academic submission will also feed into an industry report which will be shared with the Racing Foundation and Diversity in Racing Steering Group.

If you have any questions about this survey, or the research more broadly, please contact David direct on d.letts.19@unimail.winchester.ac.uk.
