Royal Windsor hosts evening meeting to support Mental Health Awareness Week
Royal Windsor Racecourse hosted ‘Royal Ale Racenight’ in the week before the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
ARC and Royal Windsor wanted to mark the launch of Mental Health Awareness Week to get behind this cross-industry initiative, with fundraising and raising awareness of the help available to people suffering from a range of problems.
The evening raised an impressive £8,000 for the Mental Health Foundation with ARC enlisting five corporate partners to support the evening through race sponsorship. The Foundation brought a team to the popular Monday evening venue to engage the crowd with bucket shaking and to sell merchandise, such as the green ribbons that have been worn across the sport.
“We were so pleased that the evening was absolutely gorgeous, with lots of people enjoying a typical Windsor Monday night in the sunshine,” said Sam Cone from ARC.
“We worked with the broadcaster At The Races to get key messages across about the Mental Health Foundation and Racing Welfare. Social media was key and we arranged interview opportunities with presenter Matt Chapman on the evening.”
In addition, ARC pledged to donate 50p for every ticket sold by Windsor on the evening.
