The Magnolia Cup the perfect lift off for Ladies’ Day at Goodwood
The opening race on Ladies’ Day at Goodwood is the Magnolia Cup and global insurer Markel will be sponsoring the race until at least 2023. The aim of the race is to promote women in the sport and encourage women from diverse backgrounds and industries to take part.
A significant fundraiser
The Magnolia Cup aims to raise as much money as possible for female-focused charities. Since its start in 2011, the race has raised £1.6 million for nine charities, and in 2019, £187,000 was raised alone.
The 2021 charity
The chosen charity this year is Smart Works. The charity aims to give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment and change the trajectory of their lives. In the last eight years they have supported over 18,000 women with 62% of women getting a job within a month of receiving help from the charity. They achieve this through a coaching service.
