Trainer Richard Hannon opens his yard to the public for great causes

Richard Hannon will open the doors to his Herridge Racing Stables on Sunday 1^st September 2019 allowing the public a rare chance to experience what it’s like behind the scenes at one of the country’s leading training facilities.

Herridge Racing Stables will be open between 10am and 1pm as visitors will get the opportunity to meet some of their equine heroes as the yard’s stable stars parade throughout the morning.

There will be something for everyone as entertainers “Sharkey and George” will be there to provide fun and active games for children to take part in whilst there will also be food and drink outlets for people to enjoy. Premier League footballer, Charlie Austin, will also be on hand to answer questions on his experiences within racing as well as sharing some of his thoughts on the upcoming football season.

Richard Hannon, trainer and Unibet ambassador, said “The open morning provides a wonderful opportunity for us to give something back to fans of racing as well as raising money for two brilliant causes. We are very lucky to have some wonderful facilities and everyone at Herridge Racing Stables is excited to welcome visitors to the yard on the 1^st September. Please do come and visit.”

Entry for adults is £20, whilst children accompanied by adults under 16 are £5 each. There is limited availability with only 500 tickets available, so make sure you book your tickets as soon as possible. For all ticket enquiries email hugo@jsccomms.co.uk.

The inaugural Open Morning, sponsored by Unibet, will aim to raise money for two local charities close to the Hannon’s heart.

The Greatwood Charity is the only charity that uses retired racehorses to help disadvantaged children and young adults with Special Educational needs. They were founded in 1998 and are there to help those horses that have been retired from racing due to unforeseen circumstances. This allows them another chance of life after racing and also gives young people a chance to create relationships with these horses and improve their social skills.

The second charity is the Wiltshire Air Ambulance who provide an essential helicopter emergency medical service, primarily for the people of Wiltshire and adjacent English counties.
