Racecourses nationwide prepare to light up the skies for Bonfire Night

There is no better event to bring the community together than a fireworks display and racecourses up and down the country are preparing to host their own Bonfire nights during the first week of November.

Racing Together brings you just a selection of what’s on offer, but do go to the Events page on the website for all the details and a full list.

Ascot Racecourse

Ascot’s National Hunt season promises to get off to a memorable start and visitors can enjoy one of the region’s largest firework spectaculars. There is free entry for under-18s when accompanied by an adult and between racing and the fireworks display, racegoers of all ages can also enjoy a showing of this year’s hit singalong film, The Greatest Showman in the Ascot Pavilion.

White-knuckle fairground rides include the Sizzler Twist, The Superbowl, Oxygen and Dodgems. Gentler rides such as Mini Jets and Teacups will keep the younger ones happy and there are and pony rides for the under-10s. Rides are free of charge until 4 pm and cost £1 thereafter with proceeds donated to local charities.

Bath Racecourse

The family event at Bath will see a spectacular firework display in the countryside with a fun fair and children’s entertainment also taking place at the racecourse. The Light Up Lansdowne Event commenced in 2016 and this year’s offering promises to be an even bigger display than in previous years.

Cheltenham Racecourse

Drawing in some 10,000 people each year, the Cheltenham Round Table fireworks display is set to dazzle families once again when it returns to the Racecourse with its professionally organised display.

Aside from the fabulous fireworks, visitors can look forward to an array of delicious food and drink. There will also be an appearance from the PJ Masks delighting little ones, as well as the chance to play on the fairground. This favourite annual event will once again be raising money towards local charities and worthwhile causes that help Cheltenham Round Table support the community.

Doncaster

Kids disco, face-painting, children’s entertainers, fire tricksters and fairground rides. Doncaster have really pushed the boat out for their Bonfire night. A circus workshop will also be present with attendees able to learn how to walk a tight rope. A fancy-dress and colouring competitions will all take place before the first firework is lit.

Kempton

One of racing’s largest firework displays returns to Kempton Park Racecourse. A fun-filled evening is planned, which includes a funfair, performers, DJ, food and drink concessions and the spectacular firework display set to circus theme tunes, including music from this year’s smash hit film The Greatest Showman. The funfair and music will continue until 10pm.

Windsor ‘Spookfest’

The sell-out Royal Windsor Racecourse Fireworks spectacular returns for 2018 with ‘Spookfest’. Families are invited to explore the spooky island for an evening bursting with family fun and thrills.

The firework display will be set to many popular Halloween films, including: The Adams Family, Ghostbusters and Psycho.

A drive-in cinema will be on course showing the original Ghostbusters movie straight after the fireworks.
