Purpose:

By taking part in our Community Day, it offers staff the chance to work and socialise with other members of the team who they may not work with on a regular basis. The aim of this is to create greater sociability within the team and working together on a project outside of racing adds to the feeling of belonging, being one team. We also take great pride from the fact that we help within the local community, adding to their ability to enjoy their local parks and the wider Knavesmire. We have also litter picked on the Knavesmire retrieving some 20 bin bags full of discarded bottles and general litter. We also host coffee mornings for Racing Welfare which take place every year. Participants are offered tea/ coffee on arrival with pastries and invited to socialise with one another before receiving a 'behind the scenes' tour of the racecourse.
