purpose

Purpose:

I created this event to allow people from local care and supported living facilities to be able to attend a race day for the first time at their local course. The focus was to improve the quality of life of the residents of the facilities by visiting somewhere new, thus creating new sensory experiences. This was also a key activity for stimulating memories with dementia patients, particularly one who has been a jockey. The facilities are now in contact with Nottingham Racecourse to host and attend other events, when such times allow.
