Programme Highlight

Volunteering: Racing Together Community Day initiatives where our staff have gone to local community projects including a hospice, homeless shelter, and church to help out. Last year 20 staff went to our local hospital to repair, rub down and re-varnish the garden furniture in the dementia patients’ garden. Education: Students from Writtle college have educational days at the racecourse. Local brownie & scout groups regularly visit the racecourse. Racing to school visits. Charity & fundraising: % of revenue from each family fun day goes to the elected charity for that year (Help for Heroes, Macmillan) race titles, tickets & hospitality raffle prizes are also donated. Big supports of the Mayor’s charity appeal each year, hosting a Mayor’s charity racenight to raise funds. Also regularly support the Lord’s Taverners charity. We have donated food from cancelled race meetings to local homeless charities. Last year instead of doing Secret Santa each member of staff gave a present to the Salvation Army.
