The Tote supports British Racing in a number of ways. These include committing a minimum of £50million to the sport over the next 7 years through an agreement with racecourses, as well as paying the Horserace Betting Levy. The Tote also supports the Racehorse Owners Association’s Owner Sponsorship Scheme. In April 2020, the Tote was a partner of the Virtual Grand National and helped raise £2,9 million for NHS Charities Together by offering a betting market on the race. The Tote donated revenues generated on bets placed on the Britannia Stakes on Ladies Day at Royal Ascot 2020 to four charities – Prostate Cancer UK, Marie Curie, the Berkshire Community Foundation and the Care Workers Charity. In 2020, the Tote has made donations to Racing Welfare, via the Furlong Factor and the Injured Jockeys Fund through the 9 Lives Challenge, as well as supporting the Virtual Henry Cecil Open Weekend and will look for ways to support racing's excellent charity sector in the future.
