Purpose:

Mental health and wellbeing is a key focus within horseracing on a broad level, and is a core component of the Scottish Racing Academy’s strategic objectives. The Scottish Racing Academy is wholly committed to providing fully inclusive and accessible opportunities to all our stakeholders’ mental health and wellbeing. In addition, in light of the well reported impact of Covid-19 on the mental health of racing staff, all of the Scottish Racing Academy will participate in a mental health awareness workshop and all SRA employees will continue with ongoing CPD as new practices emerge. In addition, the Scottish Racing Academy is working to: reduce any stigma associated with mental health; provide support to those within the Scottish Racing Academy (learners, staff and governance) and our collaborating organisations (Borders College and SRUC) to create positive change in attitudes towards mental health and wellbeing.
