The Scottish Racing commitment to Alzheimer Scotland. The partnership directly compliments the Scottish National Dementia strategy by maintaining a focus on improving the quality of care for people living with dementia and their families through workforce development; data and information; and fundraising for research. Crucially, within this established partnership, there is a recognition of the importance of taking a person-centred approach to providing support to people living with dementia and their carers. The partnership promotes and supports the aim that people can live well in their dementia-friendly and dementia-enabled communities and horse racing organisations. Another major development of 2019, is that Scottish Racing were successful in gaining funds to establish a sister organisation purely focused on community and education - the Scottish Racing Academy.
